The State Bank of India (SBI) has released its official recruitment notification for Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre for 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates aspiring to work in India’s largest public sector bank.

Online Registration & Fee Payment: 06.08.2025 to 26.08.2025
Preliminary Examination: Tentatively September 2025
Main Examination: Tentatively November 2025

Total: 5,990 (State/UT-wise & category-wise distribution available in the official notification)
Note: Candidates can apply for only one State/UT and must be proficient in the local language of the selected State/UT.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit (as on 01.04.2025):

Minimum: 20 years
Maximum: 28 years
(Born between 02.04.1997 and 01.04.2005, both days inclusive)
Age relaxation: OBC – 3 years, SC/ST – 5 years, PwBD – up to 15 years (as per category), and other categories as per rules.

2. Educational Qualification (as on 31.12.2025):

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.
Final-year students can apply provisionally but must produce proof of passing before 31.12.2025.
Certain ex-servicemen with equivalent army education certificates are also eligible.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in three phases:

Phase I – Preliminary Exam

Mode: Online Objective Test
Total Marks: 100
Sections:
- English Language – 30 Q (20 min)
- Numerical Ability – 35 Q (20 min)
- Reasoning Ability – 35 Q (20 min)
Negative Marking: ¼ mark for each wrong answer.

Phase II – Main Exam

Mode: Online Objective Test
Total Marks: 200
Sections:
- General/Financial Awareness – 50 Q (35 min)
- General English – 40 Q (35 min)
- Quantitative Aptitude – 50 Q (45 min)
- Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude – 50 Q (45 min)

Phase III – Local Language Proficiency Test

Candidates must be proficient in the specified local language of the State/UT applied for.
Those with 10th/12th mark sheets showing studied local language are exempt from this test.
Final Selection: Based on the marks in the Main Examination + language proficiency (where applicable).

Pay Scale & Benefits

Basic Pay: ₹26,730/- (including two advance increments for graduates)
Total Starting Salary: Approx. ₹46,000/- per month (in metro cities like Mumbai).
Other benefits include DA, HRA, medical, pension, PF, leave fare, and various allowances.

Probation Period

Minimum 6 months with e-lesson completion requirement.
Performance evaluation before confirmation.

Key Points to Remember

Apply for only one State/UT.
No inter-circle/inter-state transfers allowed after selection (with limited intra-state exceptions).
Candidates must have flair for marketing and may be required to work in shifts and travel extensively.
