Vacancy Details

Section Controller: 368 Posts
Zone-wise and RRB-wise vacancies are available in Annexure-B of the notification.
Reservation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, Ex-Servicemen, and PwBD candidates as per rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

Minimum Age: 20 years
Maximum Age: 33 years
Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10–15 years), Ex-Servicemen, and others as per government norms.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a Graduate Degree from a recognized University or equivalent as on the closing date of application.
Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible.

Medical Standards

Required Medical Category: A-2
Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses
Near Vision: Sn 0.6 without glasses
Must pass tests for colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, and myopic vision.
Candidates with Lasik surgery are not eligible for A-2 posts.

Application Fee

General/OBC/EWS: ₹500 (₹400 refunded after CBT)
SC/ST, Female, Transgender, EBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen: ₹250 (₹250 refunded after CBT)
Payment Mode: Online (UPI, Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking).

Selection Process

The RRB Section Controller recruitment process will consist of:

Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Single stage exam
- Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer
Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
- Weightage: 70% CBT + 30% CBAT
- Only candidates passing CBAT will be considered
