Kochi Water Metro Limited (KWML) has released an official recruitment notification (Advt. No: KWML/HR/2024-25/14 dated 03.11.2025) inviting online applications for Boat Operations Trainee posts. Eligible ITI and Diploma candidates can apply online through the official KWML or KMRL website before 20th November 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for freshers to work and gain experience in Kerala’s modern Water Transport System project – the Kochi Water Metro.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have minimum 60% marks in:

ITI (Fitter, Electrician, Machinist, AC Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic) – Pass out in 2022, 2023, or 2024
OR
Diploma (Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics) – Pass out in 2022, 2023, or 2024

Other Requirements:

GPR License Certificate (Candidates without GPR will receive a reduced stipend of ₹7,000/month and will get ₹9,000/month upon obtaining the certificate.)
Freshers are eligible to apply.

Area of Training

The selected candidates will receive training in:

Boat operations, maintenance, and terminal activities
IV rules, vessel communication & navigation
Passenger safety, crowd handling, and customer facilitation
Firefighting & emergency rescue operations
Terminal operations, ticketing, and maintenance
Assisting in ITMS & OCC activities

Medical Standards

Distant Vision: 6/6 (both eyes)
Near Vision: 0.5 (both eyes)
Must have normal color vision; color blindness or squint is a disqualification.

Stipend Structure

₹9,000/- per month (for GPR license holders)
₹7,000/- per month (without GPR, until license obtained)
During Advanced Training (after 1-year training):
- ₹17,000 to ₹20,000 (based on qualification and year of training)

Selection Process

Written Test and/or Interview

General Conditions

Training is under KWML On-the-Job Training Scheme.
No employment guarantee after completion of training.
Age limit: Maximum 28 years as on 01.11.2025 (Relaxation applicable as per rules).
