Recruitment Announcement for Kottur Elephant Rehabilitation Center

The Kerala Forest Department has announced recruitment for various positions at the newly upgraded Kottur Elephant Rehabilitation Center, Thiruvananthapuram. This center, operational since 2007, has been expanded with modern facilities under the FBC (Forest Biodiversity Conservation) Project with an investment of ₹105 crore, covering 176 hectares of forest land.

Available Positions & Eligibility

1. Electrical Supervisor

• Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Experience: At least one year in electrical supervision in government/private organizations with 500 kVA transformer handling experience.
• Age Limit: Below 50 years as of January 1, 2025.
• Salary: ₹22,290 per month.
• Vacancies: 1

2. Junior Assistant (Accounts)

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or equivalent.
• Additional Requirement: Certification in MS Office from a recognized institution.
• Age Limit: Below 36 years as of January 1, 2025.
• Salary: ₹21,175 per month.
• Vacancies: 1

3. Gardener

• Qualification: Minimum 7th grade pass (higher qualifications will not be considered).
• Experience: Three years of work experience as a gardener in a government/private institution.
• Age Limit: Below 60 years as of January 1, 2025.
• Salary: ₹18,390 per month.
• Vacancies: 1

4. Assistant Mahout (Elephant Caretaker)

• Qualification: Minimum 7th grade pass (higher qualifications will not be considered).
• Experience: Training/experience in elephant handling (mahout certification preferred).
• Physical Fitness:
  • Height: Minimum 163 cm
  • Chest: Minimum 81 cm (expansion of 5 cm required)
  • Special relaxations for SC/ST categories.
• Age Limit: Below 40 years as of January 1, 2025.
• Salary: ₹18,390 per month.
• Vacancies: 4
