The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for the Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2025. If you’re a diploma or degree holder in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, this is your golden opportunity to secure a Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted central government job with a handsome pay scale of ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 (Level-6).

Post & Educational Qualification

Junior Engineer (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical)

Minimum Qualification:

  • Diploma or Degree in the relevant engineering discipline.
  • For some posts like BRO & MES, 2 years of relevant experience is also required.

Distance learning engineering degrees (except IGNOU till 2009–10) are not valid.

  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹100
  • Women/SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen: Exempted

Selection Process

  1. Paper-I (Computer-Based)
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 Qs
    • General Awareness: 50 Qs
    • General Engineering (based on discipline): 100 Qs
    • Total: 200 Marks
  2. Paper-II (Computer-Based)
    • Subject-specific (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical): 300 Marks
  3. Document Verification

Note: Negative marking of 0.25 in Paper-I and 1 mark in Paper-II per wrong answer.


PwBD & BRO-Specific Notes

  • Certain disabilities are eligible except for Visually Handicapped (VH).
  • Only male candidates can apply for BRO JE posts.
  • Physical and medical standards apply strictly for BRO roles.

  3. Fill out the online application form
  4. Upload real-time photo and scanned signature
  5. Submit & pay fees (if applicable)
  6. Tip: Use Aadhaar-based authentication for seamless registration.

Application Correction Window

  • You can correct your application twice during 1–2 August 2025.
  • Correction Fee: ₹200 (first time), ₹500 (second time)
