Important Dates

Age Limit

• Candidates must be 18 to 26 years
• Date of birth should be between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)
• Age relaxation is applicable for OBC, SC/ST candidates as per Kerala PSC rules

Educational Qualification

• Must have passed Plus Two (Higher Secondary) or its equivalent
• Diploma in Computer Application is treated as a preferential qualification

Physical Standards (Minimum Requirement)

For General Candidates

• Height: 165 cm
• Weight: 50 kg
• Chest: 81 cm
• Chest Expansion: 5 cm

For SC/ST Candidates

• Height: 160 cm
• Weight: 48 kg
• Chest: 76 cm
• Chest Expansion: 5 cm

Swimming Proficiency (Mandatory)

Candidates must qualify both the following tests:

• 50 meters swimming within 2 minutes
• 2 minutes floating ability in deep water

Vision Standards (Without Glasses)

• Distant Vision: 6/6 (Right & Left Eye)
• Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen
• Full field of vision
• Color blindness, squint, or eye diseases will lead to disqualification

A medical certificate from a Civil Surgeon or above rank is mandatory during verification.

Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 events:

• 100 m Run – 14 seconds
• High Jump – 132.2 cm
• Long Jump – 457.2 cm
• Shot Put (7.26 kg) – 609.6 cm
• Cricket Ball Throw – 6096 cm
• Rope Climbing – 365.8 cm
• Pull Ups – 8 times
• 1500 m Run – 5 min 44 sec

Weightage & Preferences

• NCC ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ certificate holders get 2%, 3%, and 5% weightage marks
• Meritorious sports persons get additional marks
• Students Police Cadet (SPC) certificate holders get weightage
• Home Guard volunteers with 3 years service and fire training get preference

Training & Probation

• 6 months institutional training + 6 months practical training
• Candidates must pass written and practical exams
• Probation: 2 years within a continuous period of 3 years

Bond Requirement

Selected candidates must execute a bond to serve the department for 7 years after appointment.
