The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India have released the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 02/2026 inviting online applications for Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III posts. A total of 6,557 vacancies have been announced across various Railway Zones in India. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates holding ITI, Diploma, Engineering Degree, Apprenticeship or other prescribed technical qualifications who wish to secure a Central Government job in Indian Railways.

Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026)

Technician Grade I Signal

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 33 Years

Technician Grade III

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years

Age relaxation is available for:

• SC
• ST
• OBC (NCL)
• PwBD
• Ex-Servicemen
• Railway Employees
• Eligible Widows/Divorced Women

as per Government of India rules.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the required educational and technical qualifications before the last date of application.

Eligible qualifications include prescribed ITI, Apprenticeship, Diploma, Engineering Degree or equivalent technical qualifications, depending on the post applied for. Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible. Refer to the official post-wise qualification table before applying.

Salary

Technician Grade I Signal

• Level-5 (7th CPC)
• Initial Basic Pay: ₹29,200

Technician Grade III

• Level-2 (7th CPC)
• Initial Basic Pay: ₹19,900

Selected candidates will also receive applicable Railway allowances as per rules.

Selection Process

The recruitment process includes:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Document Verification (DV)
3. Medical Examination

There will be negative marking of one-third (1/3) mark for every incorrect answer in the CBT.

Medical Standards

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed medical standards such as:

• A3
• B1
• B2
• C1

Medical requirements vary according to the post. Candidates must ensure they meet the required standards before applying.
